Supervision

Most professional psychotherapy organisations require their practitioners to incorporate supervision in their practice. Supervision involves using the services of another counsellor or therapist to review their work and often personal development from a different viewpoint.

I hold a Diploma in supervision and am also a BACP Accredited Supervisor. I offer supervision to those in training or to those who are already qualified. My practice is predominately informed by my use of Hawkins and Shohet (2000) seven-eyed supervisor model. This model is a very holistic one that not only focuses on the processes within both the therapy and supervisory matrices but also takes into consideration the wider context which may impinge upon these processes.

I strive to create a supportive, encouraging and collaborative relationship with my supervisee's in which issues can be handled with trust as a means of developing the quality of therapy offered to the client.

SUPERVISION

"Supervision thus provides a container that holds  the helping relationship within the 'therapeutic triad'"
